Sucker Punch: Evadare din realitate este o incursiune în mintea unei tinere a cărei imaginaţie o ajută să evadeze din realitatea sumbră în care trăieşte. Numai aşa, fără constrângeri de timp şi loc, este liberă să pornească în aventuri care şterg limita dintre real şi fantezie.
Intemniţată fără voia ei într-un azil de nebuni, Babydoll (Emily Browning) încă mai visează la o viaţă normală. Şi cum singura speranţă la libertate este lupta neîncetată, ea reuşeşte să convingă încă 4 tinere aflate în aceeaşi situaţie să i se alăture. Cu personalităţi diferite, dar unite de un scop comun, Rocket (Jena Malone), Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens), Amber (Jamie Chung), Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish) şi Babydoll se aliază pentru a scăpa din mâinile celor care le ţin captive.
Conduse de Babydoll, tinerele îşi creează propria lume imaginară, unde pornesc un război fantastic cu tot felul de creaturi terifiante, de la samurai la şerpi uriaşi, ajutându-se de un arsenal pe măsură. Tot împreună, ele sunt nevoite să hotărască ce sacrificii sunt dispuse să facă pentru a rămâne în viaţă şi a continua periculosul joc. Cu un ajutor nesperat din partea lui Wise Man (Scott Glenn), aventura incredibilă a fetelor le poate reda vieţile, însă, doar dacă reuşesc să ducă la bun sfârşit provocările primite de la cei care le ţin captive: Blue (Oscar Isaac), Madam Gorski (Carla Gugino) şi High Roller (Jon Hamm).
